Americana Group expands its operations to Turkey with the opening of Costa Coffee

Americana Group, the Middle East’s most successful group of companies, operating consumer foods, restaurants, and food-related products continues to expand its operations across the MENA region with the opening of the first Costa Coffee shop in Istanbul.

Once again Costa Coffee have teamed up with trusted franchise partner Americana Group, with Costa stores in Turkey being operated by International Food Company, a subsidiary of Americana Group who already holds the franchise agreement for Costa Coffee stores in 4 other countries, and this new agreement will bring Costa's international presence to over 1200 stores in 26 countries.

Andy Marshall, Costa's international Chief Operating Officer, said, "The opening of our new outlet in Turkey is a major step forwards in Costa's international expansion plan and we are confident that we have a bright future in this large market. In particular we are delighted to be entering this market with the International Food Company, a subsidiary of Americana, who have already demonstrated their considerable skill and professionalism in the growth of the Costa franchise in Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon."

Italian brothers Sergio and Bruno Costa started Costa Coffee in London in 1971. Their small family business was bought by Whitbread in 1995 and has continued to grow in the MENA region to over 300 stores in 11 countries, but still remains true to its Italian heritage. The company has built its reputation on the excellence of its coffee and the quality of the food and service it provides - a treat now in store for consumers Turkey.
